It's a powerful reminder that behind every donation, there's a human connection and a story worth telling.

Canada's Lifeline is an impressive network of hundreds of thousands of donors. Among them are remarkable individuals who have reached milestones of 100, 250, or even 500+ donations. These donors embody the spirit of compassion and selflessness that defines Canada.
However, with only 2% of eligible Canadians currently donating, there's a need to encourage more people to join this community. National Blood Donor Week is an opportunity to invite new donors and celebrate the existing ones. As Ryan Adams, Director of Development and Recruitment at Canadian Blood Services, puts it, it's about experiencing “the powerful feeling and connection that comes with giving.”
Celebrating Donors and Encouraging Participation
To recognize donors and encourage participation, several initiatives are in place:
- Donors will receive a limited-edition sticker as a token of gratitude.
- Canada Post will launch a commemorative blood donation stamp, symbolizing the connection and community that donation fosters.
- Stantec, a national engineering company, will donate $1 for every blood and plasma appointment booked and attended, with a potential maximum contribution of $70,000.
These efforts not only celebrate donors but also create a sense of community and encourage others to get involved.
